Mit diesem Tutorial kann man ein iPhone 3G, das versehentlich auf die Firmware 3.1 gebracht wurde wieder auf eine Baseband-Version bringen, mit der ein Unlock des iPhones möglich ist:

This tutorial is for those folks who have accidently upgraded their iPhone to firmware 3.1 directly via iTunes. On doing this, the users have also unknowingly updated their modem(baseband) firmware to 05.11.07 from 04.26.08. Such an update, results in the loss of unlock ability. So in order to have it back, one needs to downgrade their baseband firmware.
